Altri was distinguished by CDP – Disclosure, Insight, Action with a A- rating for its fight against climate change, a one notch improvement from the CDP Score reached last year. With this high score, Altri becomes one of a strict group of companies worldwide that have high performance regarding the environment.
This A- in 2021 is the only one of its kind given by CDP to a Portuguese company in the wood & paper materials sector. It places Altri “above European regional average of B, and higher than the wood & paper materials sector average of C”, giving the Portuguese company a place amongst the 29% of those who have achieved a “Leadership” status.
Altri’s rating is the result of the evaluation of 11 indicators, in which Altri achieved the maximum score in 5: Emissions reduction initiatives, Scope 1 & 2 emissions, Scope 3 emissions, and both Risk and Opportunity disclosure.
Alongside with the high mark reached on the fight against climate change, Altri was presented with a B grade in forest protection practices, the same rating that it has reached in terms of clean water initiatives. In this first year that both practices were reviewed by CDP, Altri got ratings in line with its sector average.
“The excellent result reached by Altri on CDP’s climate change practices clearly confirms the success of the work that has been done in recent years. It’s a great honour for Altri, but it’s also a great incentive to do more and better to make this company a national and international reference in terms of sustainability”, says José de Pina, CEO of Altri.
