The Altri Group was awarded 1st place in terms of “Sustainability”, one of the six categories distinguished in the 12th edition of the KAIZEN™ Awards Portugal. This award recognizes the positive impact of the strategy designed to respond to ESG challenges: Environmental (E), Social (S) and Governance (G).

Winning the 1st place in the KAIZEN™ Awards reflects the success of the sustainability strategy that Altri Group defined in 2020, in line with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals. These goals were defined in the “2030 Commitment” that the Altri Group has since placed at the center of decision-making on all projects.

Within the scope of this “2030 Commitment”, the Altri Group has been working on the promotion and conservation of the forest, while at the same time implementing a series of projects aimed at reducing emissions of polluting gases into the atmosphere.

These improvements already implemented, as well as those that are under development, have, in addition to the environmental benefit, a positive impact in terms of the efficiency of the cellulosic fiber production processes. It also makes it possible to achieve important financial savings amounting to 6 million euros.
