Altri, Corticeira Amorim, Sonae Arauco and The Navigator Company offer 22 scholarships

Altri Group, Corticeira Amorim, Sonae Arauco and The Navigator Company created a public-private partnership to finance 22 scholarships that guarantee 100% of the value of tuition fees in courses in the field of forestry engineering.

The courses will be taught at the University of Trás-os-Montes and Alto Douro and the University of Porto (UTAD and UP), at the Instituto Superior de Agronomy (ISA) or at the Escola Superior Agrária de Coimbra (ESAC).

This partnership was developed to stimulate the interest of potential students in an area of increasing strategic importance for a country like Portugal.

By financing the tuition fees, the availability of specialists in the forestry area will increase, responding to the growing demand. In 2019, the forest industry was responsible for 100,000 jobs, a number that will grow by 60,000 until the end of the decade, according to the Portuguese Government projections.
